Viking Boats
6th Feb 2026
In P6 we have been working on investigating boat features for a number of weeks now. We have looked at sail shapes, hull sizes and have discussed the power of wind and the use of oars to power Viking boats.
Today was the moment of truth when we were able to test out our group designs and the boats we had built. Some were able to meet the design brief but others unfortunately had similarities to Titanic.
We were able to discuss the improvements that could be made to make the boat more successful. The children evaluated their learning and enjoyed seeing the different boats floating or sinking.
